Harry Bosch - Datamoll

I am here - At an auction

And it's ruddy cold. I'm waiting to see what the signed L.S Lowry print goes for.

Update: The print went for £600, at the low end of the estimate. Given prices seen on the internet, this didn't seem too bad.

Scary Father Christmas

(download)

He will kill you in your sleep. Santa can be found in this monument to food retail next to the coin changing machine, across from the Shoes For £10 emporium, just along from the Mobility Scooter Centre. And that is truly scary. Run, Forest, run!

I am here - Royal College of Art

At the 'Secret' postcard sale. It's one heck of a queue. Will I have the patience to wait?

Update: Yep, I did, even though we queued for five hours. The time went by more quickly than it might, as I had the pleasure in speaking with a couple of very interesting people. Literary agent and violinist, you know who you are. I hope you got the cards you wanted. I was very chuffed with mine, a mainly blue oil on canvas by Martyn Brewster. Nice that they had one left that was on my wish list.

I am here - Blake's Lock Museum

An odd place when there are no staff and no other visitors. Good views of the river, though. The Bel and The Dragon restaurant next door looks very nice.

As the official site says - "Telling the story of Reading's two rivers - the Kennet and the Thames - the Riverside Museum occupies two former industrial buildings, the Screen House and the Turbine House.Following consultation, the Screen House displays the gypsy caravan, a video about gypsy life and a medieval mill wheel found when The Oracle was built. A hands-on interactive shows how the mill wheel worked."
